June 9 2010, Cambridge, UK - The hunt is on to unearth the next generation of technologies tycoons as 'Discovering Start out-Ups 2010' - a brand new competition and assistance programme - launches across the East of England nowadays.

Cambridge Wireless has joined forces with the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) to offer you local technologies begin-up companies the opportunity to win cash prizes in a competition to unearth the optimum new wireless technologies.

The competition runs across five categories of wireless technologies:* Green radio - wireless technologies that address environmental concerns* Hot applications and services - for computer software developers/service providers * Well being and wellness - utilizing wireless technologies solutions to solve health-related issues* Technologies style - for these with a new take on technologies, and * Emerging disruptive ideas - for the optimum ideas that might come out of research and development (R&D).

Closing for entries on 29 October, the competition will be judged by major industry figures and winners will be announced at the Cambridge Wireless Founders' Awards dinner on Thursday 9 December at Newnham College, Cambridge.

Alongside the competition, Cambridge Wireless will provide a series of 'masterclasses' to aid technologies-focused begin-ups - wireless or otherwise - to address common issues when beginning and expanding their organization. The launch event, 'Show us the money' will be hosted on Tuesday 13 July 2010 at the Mller Centre, Cambridge, and will provide top helpful hints on securing vital early-stage investment. The event begins at 12:00pm.

Additional masterclasses will be hosted across the East of England, as the Discovering Start out-Ups programme seeks to promote, celebrate and encourage technologies entrepreneurship across the region.
